Georgia Berner
The Sage
April 18, 1984 brought police officers to Georgia’s farm in the middle of the night. The commotion at the front door awakened her four children. They were upstairs and straining to hear the muffled voices below. Their father had been killed in a plane crash on his way to the Berner facility in Boston. Georgia called friends to come to the house and left to walk the property. “I had to walk, I had to think. The dog came with me but soon went back to the house because it was raining. By the time I got back to the house, I knew I would take over the business.”
